Quote for Friday May 20, 2005
Just as you would not neglect seeds
that you planted with the hope that
they will bear vegetables and fruits and flowers,
so you must attend to and nourish
the garden of your becoming.

I like the usage of garden as a metaphor. Mideval people viewed their world as a garden tended by God.
Planting seeds and reaping the rewards is a theme from the Bible.
Sometimes I forget that I am still "becomong". I feel like I already am what I am, and this will not change.
Maybe it would be a good idea to nourish the seeds I have planted in my younger days.
It certainly wouldn't hurt.
