Definition:
An easy target; someone or something who is defenseless, vulnerable, or in a precarious situation.
Example:
1) The sweet old lady was a sitting duck for the aggressive salesman. 2) Out in the open field, the soldiers were sitting ducks for enemy snipers.
Etymology:
This phrase was first used by soldiers in World War Two.
